Lisa.... years ago my first wife and I were vacationing in Vegas, and we're in a luncheonette at Bally's when who should walk in but Rip Taylor. (Yes he had his rug on.) He seemed like a much lower-voltage version of himself when he wasn't actually performing. I regret not going over and asking him for an autograph, as I loved watching him over the years on things like "The $1.98 Beauty Show". But when he actually came on the scene on the 60's he had a much different act: he was known as the "Crying Comedian". Only later did the confetti throwing and assorted mayhem take place.
